Charlotte Harbor and the surrounding Gulf Islands make up the second largest natural estuary in Florida (4885 sq mi) and one of the most sought-after fishing destinations on Southwest Florida’s coast. The Harbor is a sandbar estuary that protects pristine seagrasses and countless mangrove islands making a haven for all inshore species.

From the dark, brackish waters of the Peace River in Punta Gorda to the vibrant blue "Tarpon Fishing Capital of the World," Boca Grande, all the popular inshore game fish are right here at your rod tip. Tarpon, snook, redfish, trout, cobia, black drum, sheepshead and more.

Nearshore wrecks and natural limestone ledges offer great opportunity for nearshore game fish within sight of the beaches. Targeted nearshore species include grouper, snapper, permit, tripletail and cobia all a true test of tackle and will on light spinning gear.
